Isola Bella

Isola Bella beach

Isola Bella, located near Taormina along the eastern coast of Sicily, is certainly one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Sicily. The pebble beach, which is accessible through a staircase along a national road (SS 114), is surrounded by high cliffs that run down a crystalline turquoise sea. The rocky seabed give the water beautiful colors that vary during the day. It is very important to pay attention when you bathe, because the rocks are irregular and sometimes sharp. The beach of Isola Bella is partly occupied by two beach clubs, while the east part is free and ideal for diving and snorkeling lovers. If you stay a whole day in Isola Bella you can spend your time in different activities: you can take a boat trip (the cost is about 10 euros per person) to visit the Gotta Blu and the Grotta della Conchiglia. Alternatively you can rent a jet ski for about 50 euros for two people for half an hour. In front of the beach there is eventually Isola Bella that can be reached by walking along a strip of sand, both during low and high tides. The entrance ticket to the protected area of the island is 4 euros: it can be visited every day, except for Monday, from 9.00 a.m. to one hour before sunset.
